This is a mini documentary, Kulhad about pottery and the people of Kumhar Colony/Potter's Colony located in Uttam Nagar, New Delhi who practice pottery as a profession. These people are really talented and produce beautiful pieces of art. Their entire lives are shaped around pottery. However, selling these beautiful sculptures for a living doesn't provide them with a good enough life. This has gotten worse as in the last few decades, the industry has been in a decline. The amount they earn is very less as compared to the years of practice and the time they invest in their craft. The future is uncertain but still they seem hopeful, and we could all use some of that in the current climate we are living in. The name of the documentary is Kulhad, as people from all walks of life, use it to have chai. We all love our Kulhad chai, and we hope after watching this documentary, we all start appreciating the kulhad as much as we appreciate the chai.
