Changan's Deepal S05 Enters 2026 Model Year with Significant Upgrades and Aggressive Pricing

Changan’s Deepal brand is rapidly growing in China’s competitive new energy vehicle (NEV) market, driven by innovative and value-packed models like the 2026 Deepal S05 all-electric crossover. Building on its success since its October 2024 debut with over 62,000 cumulative sales, the new S05 offers significant upgrades including a larger 68.8 kWh CATL battery that extends its range to 610 km (up 100 km from the previous model) and faster 3C charging capability, charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The S05 also receives a power boost to a 200 kW (268 hp) rear motor, enhancing driving dynamics. Its modern design features a 15.4-inch floating touchscreen and a head-up display in higher trims, while pricing remains competitive starting at around $18,000 USD with promotional discounts.
