Its kinda hard to tell extactly what Rex does during the breakdowns, even with the original bass stem. I tried to see what he did when I saw them live, and tried looking at as many live videos as I could but still am not sure. Also a few little hiccups during the solo but I think its pretty damn good. Not too happy with the tone, though. Rex has a very specific tone, I didnt manage to quite get it with this one. See below for the settings I had. Tuning: C# F# B E (A=444hz) (C# / Db Standard) Artist: Pantera Album: The Great Southern Trendkill Song: Floods Released: 1996 I only used VSTs for this video. For the clean/verse tone, in this order: Me: New strings of course, I dont remember what my pickups were set to, recorded this video so long ago. It was most likely full Precision pickup and maybe a bit of the Jazz pickup. Tone knob on full. Compressor: https://www.tokyodawn.net/tdr-kotelni... Hit it pretty hard. Thats it. Preamp: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/the-... On the clean channel. Boosted gain a bit, bass dial at noon, mids at 10 o'clock, treble at 3 o'clock Cabinet/IR: https://markmatulaproductions.com/sto... For the angry/solo tone: Same compressor settings as above Overdrive: https://www.tseaudio.com/software/tseBOD Level at 2 o'clock. Drive at 2 o'clock. Only a tiny bit of blend (wet). Not even sure if this pedal did anything to the tone tbh 😝 I use it all the time for other videos though. Tube screamer: (The green pedal) https://mercuriall.com/cms/details_fr... Drive at 9 o'clock. input gain at 3.3 . Tone on full. Level on full. Set to MOD mode. Really helps give it high-end clarity. Amp sim: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products... Im using a free version of it which has white-noise every so often :/ Here's what I was using within it: Preamp: 360Bass Preamp Treble at 3 o'clock, thats the only thing I changed in it Cab: 4x10+tw TE Bass And a little bit of Ableton's default reverb effect Hope this helps! Happy playing ! This is a cover! I do not own this song. All rights go to original artists and producers.
