Premium Bonds are the UK's biggest savings product, with more than 21 million people saving over £117 billion in them. They are run by National Savings and Investments (NS&I) - a government-owned bank dedicated to savings. The prize fund rate is rising from 1% to 1.4% in June 2022 and with it the odds of winning reduce from 1 in 34,500 to 1 in 24,500. In this video I explain how the prize fund rate differs from earning interest on your savings, how to work out your odds of winning, and when the tax-free pay-outs and 100% government protection is beneficial.
