Big changes are here for ‪@nycha‬ residents! HUD is doing random inspections of NYCHA apartments and buildings using a new system called NSPIRE. This system is all about making sure your home is safe, healthy, and in good shape. What’s different with NSPIRE? It focuses on the things that matter most for your health and safety, like: Carbon monoxide Fire safety Habitability Infestation Lead-based paint Mold Structural integrity Water safety Inspectors will check both inside and outside your building, including common areas. NYCHA staff will be there with HUD inspectors during the process. Why is this important? NSPIRE helps NYCHA find and fix real problems in apartments and buildings, leading to better living conditions for everyone. Inspections are more consistent and accurate than ever before. What do you need to do? If you get notified by NYCHA, make sure you or another adult can let inspectors into your apartment on the scheduled day. Inspections happen on weekdays, and you’ll get advance notice if your apartment is selected.
