Abrar Fahad killing: Are Bangladesh campus political wings out of control? | DW News

Less than 48 hours after Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed a water sharing deal, Abrar Fahad, a university student in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka was murdered because of it. Fahad was tortured and killed by fellow students for nearly four hours on campus. His crime was having posted on Facebook that he was unhappy with the water-sharing deal. His attackers are allegedly from a student body called Bangladesh Chhatra League, which is linked to Hasina's ruling Awami League.
