First 20 min: I❤️😊sheet music Tiger of San Pedro Jazz Piano Theory w/ John Harmon Clarinet Capers Stardust Solfegietto by CPE Bach Let's say this is 90-100 of 444 Hearts - cuz all the songwriters and composers, teachers, jazz band directors, etc. (Thank you:) These songs are from such different contexts but every one of them is connected to a teacher or another artist, in my mind. Super grateful for the incredible history of music/arts education in the city I grew up in (Racine, Wisconsin*+) p.s. these are not performances - its my first time trying these songs in years or decades in some cases. But if u like music theory talk and people who giggle while sightreading / practicing / making mistakes, there ya go. (444, or even 222 songs, if I keep double-counting for teachers/those who inspired me, is a bit too many to do them all studio-quality...needed a speedy streak for a bit lol) Last 10 min: Toccata in D Minor by J.S. Bach And Bird Song / Much More from The Fantasticks @thefantasticksmusical Okay! Toccata is encompassing 4 people + a memory of auditioning for a job with it in 2012...playin this 444 Hearts game ruff and hard, cuz this unfinished challenge from 2019 was ridiculous to begin with (and ended prematurely upon impeachment cuz joy) So Toccata makes me think of my brother Steve, his son and my nephew J, and my nephew Sullivan, and auditioning for that accompanist job (playing for 5-6 people), and shoutout to Bach of course. And Much More (which I hope to record again later cuz it's fun to play but I need at least a few run thrus to get it back)...makes me think of the whole RYP cast/crew, and my piano professor at the conservatory who helped me get ready to play that show. So I think these two songs are like 22 Hearts :) (So we're up to 122 of 444 I'm kinda digging this new form of rule breaking which is really rule changing which is really that I already tried leaving the challenge unfinished forever and it was like an earworm in my memory...so yea. Just out here bein wild on the internet cuz that's how I stayed a little saner in 2017-2020, so I figure bringing back challenges and self-assigned creativity can help me not have to pay for therapy (again). Which is not a pitch for my book in the works, Creativity as Therapy. Cuz it's pretty far from done. But here's some doodles as placeholders for its page @creativityastherapy Bye!
