I've been waiting and waiting for a month like thus in PMEX. I was more excited for the Johto master sync pairs than for any of the previous anniversary scouts. DeNA didn't let them come easily, requiring way more gems than I'd care to admit, but I was at least prepared to double candy all of them to maximize my investment. Round #1: SS Kris EX/ny!Lance/p!Serena vs. Tornadus I genuinely cannot believe all the things SS Kris can do. Now it is effortless to maximize the DPS multipliers of characters like Clair and ny!Lance, the Dragon cousins who get additional damage from both rain and paralysis being in effect. I wanted to provide Gyarados with plenty of gauge, and I'm pretty sure that between p!Serena maxing speed and Rain Dance: Catalyzing Infliction was extremely overkill lmao. My biggest regret is that in delaying my DPS to not let Suicune be poisoned by Tornadus, I had an awkward turnaround at the second bar where I used ny!Lance's sync to keep the countdown going instead of being able to potentially skip a phase with p!Serena's nuke. In the end though there was plenty of leeway, so look forward to seeing this team on the future vs. more challenging opponents! Round #2: Falkner EX/SS Ethan/a!Skyla EX This segment is a combination of a stupidly overpowered and synergistic flying team paired up against one of the oldest and easiest Legendary Arenas. It's no surprise that Expand Reach and a!Skyla's sync made short work of Latios and friends. I think my biggest area of improvement here would be to go for a few more timely flinched, considering that all three characters focus a significant portion of their kits around that mechanic and other status interferences. Also need to parse out when and where to use This Is It! if it isn't just indiscriminate. Round #3: SS Morty EX/SS Lyra/Silver When I found out we were getting a Grassy Terrain user at long last, I knew that I wanted to build a coherent combination team with sun usage and grass damage for a Regirock clear. The pair of Ho-oh users help max out Johto Pride and complete each other's buffs, with Silver also offering an additional free sun reset late game. Though my team was never in any real danger, I think that there may have been a more optimal route through this level. Most of these videos are me playing off the cuff, using a combination for the first time, and I have some ideas about how to iron out the kinks. My good fortune with terrain/weather MPR counterbalanced the rotten luck I got which resulted in my sync moves not landing crits. There is so much variety and flexibility with this new terrain power; look forward to more content like this in the future! Thank you so much for watching (and reading). I will probably cut back a bit until the next gauntlet comes around, but you can be sure that when it does I'll be back at it again. See you next time!
