RUEBEN CHINYELU On World basketball day, Florida made light work of a 90-60 win over Colgate. Rueben Chinyelu delivered one of his most impactful game and performances of the 2025/26 season. The Florida center a native of Nigeria, posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, anchoring the Gators’ front-court on both ends of the floor. Chinyelu’s scoring came efficiently in the paint and he dominated the boards, helping Florida control possession and limit second-chance opportunities for Colgate. His rebounding effort was key to Florida’s sizable advantage in points in the paint and contributed to the team’s physical control throughout the game.  Chinyelu’s performance against Colgate reflected his growth as a consistent interior force this season. Entering the game, he was already averaging roughly 10 points and 10.7 rebounds per game and ranking among the team’s most reliable rebounders with a high field-goal percentage, underscoring his efficiency around the basket.  Against Colgate, his double-double helped sustain offensive momentum while reinforcing Florida’s size advantage, making him a crucial contributor in the Gators’ nonconference success.
