Azerbaijan is a muslim country, so we couldn't miss paying a visit to one of its nicest mosques, the Bibi Heybat Mosque which is built right next to the highway to offer a quick and easy pray stop. To contrast the religious start of the day, we then had a look at the first ever oil drill in the world, still preserved and displayed where it once pumped the first drops of the black liquid which turned Azerbaijan into an oil megapower. And to top it all off, we feasted at the wonderfully authentic Shirvanshah Museum Restaurant, getting to experience some true Azerbaijani cuisine in style, and enjoy traditional dances and music while we did so.
