A graduate of the SAE Institute, London, he is the frontman of the folk-fusion band Ajob. Gaurob is celebrated for his deep exploration of Lalon Shai’s philosophy, often blending the dotara with western grooves. His international portfolio includes composing for Akram Khan’s Olivier Award-winning production Desh and collaborating with jazz musicians like Zoe Rahman. A regular at festivals like WOMAD, he has released acclaimed albums such as Paar Koro and Hajar Bhooter Rajar Doya. Gaurob leads the online LKG sessions. ......................................................... Lalon Shah (c. 1772–1890) was the definitive voice of the Baul tradition, blending mysticism with a revolutionary rejection of blind faith. His philosophy sought the Moner Manush (The Man of the Heart) through the divinity of the human body, while simultaneously fostering class consciousness and resistance for the marginalised. Envisioning a harmonious, pluralistic society, Lalon’s oral traditions influenced icons like Rabindranath Tagore and Allen Ginsberg. Though he left no written records, approximately 800 authentic songs survive through oral transmission, serving as a profound pursuit of a life defined by reason, beauty, and spiritual awakening. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cameras: Ashik Apu, Manju Islam, Abul Kashem and Abdul Al Mamun Online switcher: Shahabuddin Shihab Editing: Partho Sarathi Modak, Jahirul Islam Shuvo and Ashik CG and animation: Partho Sarathi Modak and Jahirul Islam Shuvo Sound: Khalilur Rahman Arko and Nur Alom Graphics and artwork: Emon Obaidullah & Syed Iqbal Hossain Typography: Syed Iqbal Hossain Design: Shamim Islam Photography & Lighting: Ashrafuddn Apu Camera assistant: Ashis Debnath Copywriting: Md.
