The election commission of India has issued separate notices to BJP, Congress and the CPM for the tweets that were posted from their official handles on voting day and a day prior to it. Campaigning for the Tripura Assembly elections came to an end on February 14... that's 48 hours before Polling Day after which political parties and political leaders are not supposed to canvas anymore. And even though there was no campaign, some political parties used their official social media accounts to ask for votes for the party or the incumbent, which is in violation of the code of conduct. This is the first time the Election Commission has issued any such notice with respect to tweets.
