With regards to Science Fairs, the cancellation of the School, Regional, and Canada-Wide Science Fairs meant that students who worked alone or with a partner for anywhere between 2 weeks to 11 months, no longer have a venue to share their findings with peers, experts, and the wider community. The British Columbia Virtual Science Fair (BCVSF) strives to facilitate this connection of like-minded individuals and their ideas, to help support these inquisitive students. The BCVSF received projects from 195 students in grades 4 through 12 from throughout BC, and 110 volunteer mentors provided feedback to these budding scientists and engineers via video/tele-conferencing as well as written feedback! On June 17, we invite you to join us for the BC Virtual Science Fair Celebration, where, thanks to the generous support from our community, we will be recognizing the incredible work these students have accomplished. The students' project abstracts are published for public viewing at www.connectingideas.ca/projects Select students will be available for media interviews after the event. Please contact the Science Fair Foundation of BC if you are interested in interviewing any of the students, or have any questions about this event.
