A collaboration made up of hydrogen-focused transportation and energy companies, along with Westport Fuel Systems (NASDAQ: WPRT), has completed a successful heavy transport demonstration in Sweden. The demonstration provided a glimpse into what an integrated hydrogen-powered ecosystem could one day look like. The demonstration included Westport’s H2 High Pressure Direct Injection (HPDI) fuel system equipped to a prototype semi-truck engine optimized to run on hydrogen. Westport says that its H2 HPDI fuel system for internal combustion engines offers a sturdy and cost-effective solution, delivering higher power and torque compared to engines running on diesel fuel.
