Puerto Lopez has changed from a small fishermens town to a popular tourist spot. We ate some pan de yuca, pan de maiz and empanada de pina in the street, had beer on the beach in Puerto Lopez and then dinner at Noche de Parrilla which has a #3.25 merienda. Breakfast was at Comedor Michita across the highway where the Puerto Lopez market is on the weekend. Fantastic tortilla de camaron and bolon de chicharron. Although we wanted to hike at Machalilla National Park and then head to swim at Los Frailes beach the hiking trails were closed.
