A playthrough of the unplayable character Nitara in the PS2 version of Midway’s/Netherrealm’s Mortal Kombat Deception. Nitara’s TB apparently cleared up as there’s no bloodspitting antics this time. The character hit the least by losing their moves, Nitara makes for her up generic design, character traits…well, basically everything about her, by having some wonderfully fast combos at her disposal. Nitara absolutely chews through the game thanks to some powerful combos, particularly the fantastic (back+Square, back+Triangle) combo, which a few other characters have. It has pretty insane range for a close-quarters fighting game, and absolutely tears through the opponent’s health, making short work even of Onaga. Despite being pretty basic here (no portrait, no special moves and having choppy animation), Nitara is still surprisingly good. One of the best bits in this video however is the fact that you finally get to see the Dark Prison stage, which rarely appears after you’ve unlocked the hidden stages for some reason. This stage is great as it has a ton of cameos, including Reiko, Mokap, Kitana, MK4 Reptile and even Kintaro, amongst others. The fact that they’re 3D models as well is even cooler, although most of them are reused in Konquest Mode for some extra fanservice. That wraps it up for the unique unplayable characters. The remaining five are all derivatives of pre-existing characters, but still worth looking at regardless.
