Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge: On-time for 2021’s “EARTH HOUR”

The Rio-Antirrio "Charilaos Trikoupis" Bridge was once again “on time” for the WWF’s Global mobilization for the “EARTH HOUR” extending further a cycle of uninterrupted participation started in 2009. In the meantime, GEFYRA S.A. expanded its environmental actions (historically started with those for the preservation of the marine environment) and kept going green through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, eco-driving, clients’ eco-awareness, support to local environmental initiatives, adoption of renewable sources as electricity provider at a rate of 100%, launch of the gradual renewal of its fleet with electric vehicles, placement of electric chargers on both sides of the Bridge’s toll station and (last but not least) the installation of a brand new system of LED road-lighting. Faithful to its concessionaire’s commitment to curb climate change, Greece’s National Bridge was once again in perfect coordination with important monuments and landmarks of Greece and the world, interrupting its decorative lighting between 20:30 - 21:30, transforming into action its own call to every active citizen to become the "interruptor" of climate change.
