Ghatal Master Plan Launched | Flood Control & Drainage Project for Medinipur

The Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the Ghatal Master Plan, a major flood control and drainage improvement initiative for the flood-prone regions of Paschim Medinipur and Purba Medinipur. This ₹1,500 crore project will benefit nearly 10 lakh people and cover an area of 801 square kilometres, ensuring better flood management, improved drainage, and long-term protection for the region. The Ghatal Master Plan marks a decisive step towards safeguarding lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure in one of Bengal’s most flood-affected regions.
