New footage shot by my chase partner Wes Kane of the Elmer, OK tornado. This tornado was a violent tornado and without question one of the top 5 most violent I've witnessed. Thankfully, it remained mostly in open country, which led to its lower EF2 rating. It basically didn't hit much. If this had hit a populated area, I imagine it would have been much worse and would have been rated higher. The tornado transitioned from a violent wedge to a cone as it neared and crossed HWY 5 between Elmer and Tipton. With the supercell evolving into an HP, rain wrapped around the tornado making it very difficult to see as it tracked toward Snyder.
