SURVIVING TO NÜRBURGRING’s TOURISTENFAHRTEN SESSIONS // HYUNDAI I20N (Impossible BTG)

This year’s Nürburgring trip finished with this video’s lap. Despite looking for less crowded moments, during weekends it is barely impossible to get decent and clean laps to enjoy safely. It is frustrating when you are driving the Ring, but Touristenfahrten is like that, and we have to accept it. I am not going for lap times as I have little experience on track, that is why I am focused on improving my driving in order to, the future, check what times I can do when entering a racetrack. On this occasion, being my second trip to the Ring, I just wanted to know more or less what I was capable of doing on the very last day of Touristenfahrten after a whole week of coaching, listening, mistakes, corrections and passenger time. It is what it is, the Nordschleife has this “love it or hate it” thing, and you will always drive back home thinking with a bit of frustration that you could do things better in that sector or whatever. But at the end of the day, you always want to go back to the Ring and give it a try next time. The i20 N is such a great machine, but you have to be aware of what are you doing as you can switch off 100% the safety controls. Next week I will change engine oil and filters, bleed brake fluid and check the front brake pad sensor after 6.000km since the last maintenance done, which was just before going to the Ring. This Autumn/Winter session, I would like to do one more track day to keep progressing with my driving. Hopefully Cheste. I hope you enjoy the video.
