Located in the village of Arcen in the southern Dutch province of Limburg, Kasteeltuinen Arcen (the Castle Gardens of Arcen) are among the most beautiful garden parks in the Netherlands. Spread across a historic estate, the park features more than 15 themed gardens, each with its own atmosphere and design. Visitors can stroll through the romantic Rose Garden, discover the peaceful Asian Water Garden, or enjoy the fountains and classical symmetry of the Italian Garden. Walking through the park almost feels like traveling through different parts of the world, with new colors, scents, and views around every corner. The gardens cover around 32 hectares and contain thousands of plants and flowers that change throughout the seasons, which means the park looks different every time you visit. There’s also a large waterfall, winding streams, and even a small bamboo forest hidden among the paths. While the gardens themselves are absolutely worth the visit, the castle on the estate is relatively modest and not really the main attraction. The real highlight is the landscape design and the variety of gardens, making it a perfect place for a relaxing walk, photography, or simply enjoying nature.
