When Jonnie, Ben, Duncan, and Dave asked themselves what they wanted to do before they died, they answered: The Buried Life. They wrote a list of 100 things they wanted to do before they died, and started a road trip which eventually developed into a reality T.V. show for MTV; in the show, called The Buried Life, the four friends set out on a journey across North America to help a stranger cross off an item on their respective list for every item the group themselves crossed off. They wrote a New York Times bestselling book and encouraged millions to take the initiative to follow their dreams. They invite us to rethink about death which becomes the most energetic catalyst to pursue a life full of meaning. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
