Anne Maina is the National Coordinator of the Biosafety and Biodiversity Association of Kenya (BIBA Kenya). Her expertise is in advocacy in the area of agriculture and on issues concerning the environment, agriculture, livestock, food safety and health and biodiversity. She is also dedicated to promoting seed sovereignty through Farm Managed Seed Systems (FMSS) for biodiversity, biosafety, food and seed security. In this interview, she argues that those who control the seeds control the food we eat, and links food security directly to national security, arguing further that hunger has always been a weapon wielded during wars.
