I haven't looked at this since before the holidays but apparently it is still a problem. I messed around with some settings but it looks like the issue is still on Activision's end. Seems like we should see a fix hopefully in the next week or 2 if we are lucky. It still seems to me that there is no reason to pay for anything for this to be fixed. Shouldn't need to purchase PS Plus or B07 or any in game items. So I hope no one is spending money on those things to try to fix this. Activision has acknowledged it is their problem. Their "Known Issues" page has this issue listed with a date of December 16th. If you like chill gameplay and energy, and someone just trying to improve a little each match, you’re in the right place.
