Phantom Bronze – Transparent Vision 110 Jerkbait Custom Paint In this video, I paint a Phantom Bronze pattern on a transparent Vision 110 style jerkbait — no primer, no base coat. This build focuses on depth, transparency, and controlled layering to let the lure’s internal structure work for us instead of covering it up. Painting on a clear bait body requires a different mindset. Every layer shows. Every pass matters. The goal here was to create a natural bronze profile with smallmouth-inspired detailing while preserving the translucent character of the lure. 🎨 Colors Used: • Createx Copper • Wicked Detail Burnt Umber (Smallmouth pattern stencil + base color on the back) • Createx Transparent Dark Brown (Back shading) 👁 Eyes: • Red Eyes 🔒 Clear Coat: • BSI 30 Minute 2-Part Epoxy The copper base creates that subtle metallic glow beneath the transparent shell, while the burnt umber stencil work builds a natural smallmouth pattern without overpowering the body. A final layer of transparent dark brown along the back ties everything together and keeps the profile realistic in the water. This build is a great example of how restraint can produce more realism than heavy layering. When working with transparent baits, less is often more.
