Read description first Doing Ness's Classic Mode run. "Dare I ask what's the whole point of his route?" Palutena asked. "Honestly, you'd think it'd be an epic journey to take down the hands." "Ness gets homesick once in a while," Chris said. Ness nodded. "Yeah. I love my home, my mom's cooking, my sister, my dog, my card collection... I miss them all something fierce," Ness said. He hit his chest a few times for dramatic effect. "...That's it? Well, you're still a kid, I guess, ignoring how you should be a lot older by now." "Time space violations for this gathering are the best," Ness said. "It's been a week since the previous reunion ended for me. It's aaaaaaaaalways a trip back and forth." "And everyone else, too. Some actually get some breaks for years," Palutena said. "Others, they just never come back." "But everyone's here," Ness said. He pointed at the big rainbow neon sign above them with the words "EVERYONE'S HERE!" on top. "Everyone came back. Even Snake." "Not everyone," Palutena said. "TP Link, TP Zelda, and TP Ganondorf got the boot. We got shiny new replaceables for them. You'll never face something like them, so rest assured. You're so unique we can't get rid of you." "...Is that a compliment, or..." Ness trailed off. He suddenly frowned and sniffed. "I-I'm getting homesick again. I can't just...continue doing this... Please, give me a phone..." "What? Right now?" Palutena asked. She snapped her fingers and materialized an old dial phone on a stand. Ness took the phone to dial back home. After a few nods and some parting words, both Palutena and Chris gasped at the end of his talk, even though Ness was back up to his cheerful self. "Ahh, that was good," he said. "Did I just hear your mom saying your dad deposited $445,346,657,645.890.378,325,458,432,646 bucks to your BANK account?" Palutena asked. "Honest to myself, what does your dad even work at to hand out that much? The lengths of those numbers don't even exist...yet! And you have a bank account at your age?" Ness looked dull. "Really, that's what's you find weird about me," he flatly asked. "It's something, yes!" "Look, I could sit down and explain one of my many glaring oddities, but this isn't the time or place for that," Ness said, and then he walked away. Palutena rubbed her chin. "I worry about that child. Fighting a giant alien fetus really made a number on his psyche," she said. "I can't believe I just said that." "Not as strange as having a goddess right in front of me," Chris said. "Ah, touche." Key Notes: Classic Mode Overview (repeated in every other character video) Unlike before, you will never start your difficulty at the maximum difficulty (9.9). The limit you can start is at 5.0. However, depending on how well you do in every fight, the difficulty will steadily increase. The factors that contribute an increase are if you... 1) ...finished the fight as quickly as possible. 2) ...didn't stay put or mess around. 3) ...actually managed to avoid damage altogether (meaning a perfect run, which doesn't really guarantee an extra point). At best, you can get a whole point (or more) added to difficulty. At worst, you get nothing. "Nice Plays" may just be compliments that usually are around 0.8 additions. Do your best to get to the end of the mural. Using tickets avoids losing difficulty, but in case the difficulty is still increasing, you'll get a 0.1 increase if you win a match. Oh, and you only get ONE life. Lose it, and you'll either spend money to continue while losing difficulty, use a Ticket without the drawback, or simply give up. Classic Mode runs for every character aren't the same anymore. Instead of random setups, every character has a set path revolving around a theme. No differences will be made if you retry the same route. Moreover, the final boss may or may not be unique to every fighter. It may be Master Hand and/or Crazy Hand, but it can be someone else. Ness's Final Boss It's the hands. Be sure to use Ness's PSI Shield to absorb energy blows to recover if you have a clear opening. "Why Jigglypuff?" Palutena asked. "Is it because she inflates like a balloon and kids like that? Or Ness wants to sleep at home? Or maybe it's because it is weird?" "I vote for the last one," Chris said. "Yeah, that was stupid of me to wonder. Poor Lucas, though. He deserved better." Somewhere, Lucas sniffed at his lack of connection to Ness's immediate unlock. "And Wario will unlock him instead," she said with a smile. A body hitting the floor followed after.that. "I...wouldn't be surprised if that does happen," Chris said. He held a sign that read "Please don't spoil the surprise" to the audience. Watch, enjoy, and comment, everyone.
