In this hilarious and delightful video, watch me make the world's most flamboyant rainbow wreath in honor of Pride Month. Follow along as I sort through this festive selection of silk flowers and rainbow ribbon, and construct a round wreath for a front door with zero advance planning! (When your son/videographer/editor/producer extraordinaire shows up for a video shoot with a bunch of rainbow silk flowers, bolts of rainbow ribbon, and a request to "Make a 'very gay' Gay Pride wreath" for his front door--you do it, and you capture it on video!) That's the great thing about having a basic understanding of how to make a wreath. Once you know how all the individual parts need to come together to make a sound, balanced structure that fits the available space on the door and, most importantly, looks pretty, you can make a wreath out of almost anything--even silk rainbow pastel Monstera leaves! For this project, the specific type of silk flowers took a backseat to the colors, and I separated the bouquets into smaller stems so that I could bundle them together in mixed color groups, so that all the colors were evenly dispersed through the wreath. Pro tip: if you want to make a big, fluffy bow out of specialty or novelty ribbon, be sure to check the label on the bolt so you know how much ribbon you're getting. Often, these novelty ribbons come in VERY short sections--one yard isn't always enough to make a bow!
