Bioshock Animatic - "Waiting" - Jatlas

An animatic telling the story of Bioshock ಥ_ಥ Song is by Jack Johnson, characters are Jack and Atlas from the game Bioshock (also with appearances by Dr. Suchong, Dr. Tenenbaum, Dr. Steinman, little sisters!) We finally finished it! This animatic idea has been stuck in my head for a good while, aha. What can you do when a song seems to go perfectly ??? Made a lot of mistakes, SO MANY INCONSISTENCIES LOL, learned a lot of things about what to do differently for our next animatic (づ￣ ³￣)づ And below you will read a breakdown of the concepts of why everything is the way it is in this animatic!!! This is a telling of the events of Bioshock by Jack as he is reflecting on everything leading up to his final battle with Fontaine. In that way, everything is in his point of view, including Atlas' behavior. As he looks back, he realizes Atlas had ulterior motives the entire time, but Jack believes that Atlas truly loves him despite everything; so you see Atlas struggling with that as Jack tells the story. However, this is in Jack's point of view... every time Atlas shows genuine affection or is conflicted about having feelings for Jack, could all be in Jack's wishful thinking. Except we all know Atlas really loves Jack so of course x3 The color blue symbolizes the relationship between Jack and Atlas. The blue eyes when Jack is helplessly in love with Atlas (or being controlled ب_ب), the blue plasmids/chains symbolizing the bond, etc. When Atlas is in blue, he's representing Atlas' voice and how through the radio he is manipulating Jack//Jack is falling in love with him. Lots of cool gameplay stuff in this c: Hopefully everything is clear enough from viewing the animatic, but I just want to explain this one part:: When Jack is being attacked by all of the splicers and the Big Daddy, Atlas is frEAKING OUT!! He's not expecting the excruciating heartache he is feeling at seeing Jack getting hurt so much! He's supposed to be a cold-blooded con man, but unable to stand it he reaches for his radio, and then we see blue "radio Atlas" reaching out, trying to tell Jack to stop, to turn back -- but the metaphorical chains that bind Jack also bind Atlas. The chains run across Atlas' throat, stopping his voice, as though by manipulating Jack--and everyone and everything around him--he has manipulated and sabotaged himself from being able to lead a different life, or to ever feel LOVE. And then, it is too late. Anyway, that's all! Hope you enjoy the Jatlas love (((:
