The Art of Coin Cutting.

DIY metal designer lapel pin made using tradition trench art coin cutting techniques with a modern twist. The remainder of the coin is turned into a keyring to a company the lapel pin. I wear a blazer for work and have been obsessed with lapel pins ever since Ted Baker has been putting them on their blazers. I was inspired to make my own custom lapel pins, they get a lot of attention at work and using a piercing saw with 2/0 blades I cut out the young Elizabeth coin face and wear it with pride on my blazer. The surrounding coin leaves a perfect silhouette of the queens shadow and attached to a quality gun metal grey split ring makes a perfect custom key ring to accompany the design. I have made many designs with vintage coins, I check that the coin is not rare before cutting and that it is pre 1971 so it’s not illegal to cut. Enjoy the video!
