http://www.10sworld.com/tennis/ - Too much topspin on a forehand can sometimes make a shot less effective. If a player has an opportunity to end the point and can move up to take the ball early, a drive with less spin and shape will move through the court faster. To help learn to hit more of a drive, the player should not let the ball drop too low, preparing the racket more level so the swing path is not as much low to high as a regular rally ball. Keeping the shoulders more level will also assist in flattening out the hit. A good drill to practice this shot is to alternate between two forehands, first a heavy topspin drive letting the ball come more to the player and dropping slightly lower, than hitting the next forehand earlier and with less shape and spin. This will help a player feel the difference between these two forehands.
