Get your guide here: https://sproutman.com/easy-way-to-spr... | How to Get Started Sprouting At Home - The Easiest Way Learn more about sprouting, and get supplies: https://sproutman.com Hi, I’m Noah Meyerowitz from sproutman.com. Today I'm going to show you how to get started sprouting at home the easiest way, so you can enjoy nature's most nutrient dense, delicious baby vegetables. Sproutman has been on the forefront of growing your own greens since the late 1970s. My father, Steve Meyerowitz, was the one-and-only Sproutman. He wrote over 10 books on the subject and traveled all over the world promoting the incredible healing properties of sprouts. Now it's time for you to learn how to grow your own. The process to grow your own sprouts couldn't be simpler, it's three steps. The first, soak the seed; the second, rinse twice daily; and the third, harvest and enjoy. Here's what I mean by soaking the seed. First, select the amount of seed that you'd like to grow in your sprout bag. Typically, we say about three to five tablespoons. I've learned from my sprout consumption personally that I like to fill the bag with seed until we're back a quarter to a half an inch full, okay. I'm using sprouting grade seed here. Very important to use sprouting specific seed and not traditional seeds that you might find in the bulk bin at your local co-op or grocery store. Nothing wrong with those seeds for cooking, but they're typically older or lower germination and you won't find success necessarily when sprouting. So to ensure your success, sprouting seed only. Next I'll fill the bag. That looks about right. Following that, I'll place the bag in a bowl of cold water. This initial soak is essential to the sprouting process. Right now, the seed is a hard rock, right? It's in stasis, it could last that way for many, many years. By soaking it in water, we're activating the germination process, we're bringing the seed to life, and that is essential to this growing process. We'll put this aside in whatever water you're comfortable drinking overnight for eight hours. Typically, I'd suggest in the evening time, put the bag in the water, in the morning time, take it out of the water and now you're on day one of about three to seven days, depending on what variety of greens you're growing. Step two in the growing process is going to be the daily rinsing. We do this twice a day. All you need to do is soak the seed for 30 seconds to one minute, right? Two times a day, in the morning, in the evening, soak the seed. In-between the soaking, we would like to find a place that the bag can hang, right? Maybe you have a cabinet knob, maybe you have a hook above your sink, maybe you want to hang it in the shower; it's been done! But what's essential here is that the water can drip out of the bag freely. We never want to trap water in the Sprout Bag. An alternative would be to put it in the top rack of your dishwasher, maybe you can put it on a dish rack or even on an elevated colander, right? Anything that allows the water to drip out of the Sprout Bag. We do that for however many days. This is broccoli, broccoli takes about five to six days typically to mature. We'll do that dip and hang process for about five to six days. At the end, we'll open up our Sprout Bag, and we'll harvest some delicious spouts. Now, you may be wondering, do you need any special lights? Do you need special water? No. Sprouts, at this point, just need the comfortable environment that the Sprout Bag provides. Dip and hang five days and we have delicious, ready to eat broccoli sprouts. I hope you found that tutorial on growing your own sprouts using our hemp sprout bag useful.
