While the father recovers in the Gorewada Rescue Centre, “Kalwa” the Crown Prince of Tadoba, son of the mighty Chota Matka quietly moves through the thickets, conquering the other side of the bridge, outside of Tadoba, Kalwa has found his place in the Bramhpuri range of Maharashtra Forest. Shedegaon, the zone that Kalwa has set base in after leaving his family behind in the Navegaon region of Tadoba. Three cubs, two males Kalwa & Balya and a female named Baali born in the year 2022 (approx) to Tiger Chota Matka and Tigress Babli, carrying a prestigious bloodline, being the grandkids of the legendary Matkasur (father’s side) and P3/Old Kala Amba (mother’s side). Tiger Balya, upon separation was last seen around Navegaon non tourism area. Tigress Baali, in late 2024, was relocated to the Similipal Tiger Reserve in Odisha as part of a conservation project to introduce new genetic diversity to the region. Coming back to Kalwa and his territory in Shedegaon… Kalwa is now a dominant male currently mating with three females named Janvi, Uma and Paaru, it is said that he has already sired three cubs with tigress Janvi, we are yet to witness them. Before Kalwa set base here this was known to be Tiger Bali aka Bamboowala’s territory, who now quietly keeping to himself marks his area between Alizana/Navegaon and Shedegaon both Father CM and Son Kalwa’s respective lands. Another Tiger named Veer has been seen making rounds here, coming through the same route as Tiger Bali from the Alizanza Navegaon region of TATR.
