RS Components kindly sent me an oscilloscope to review and share my findings with you, my viewers. Its the RS Pro IDS2000 Series IDS2204E Digital Oscilloscope, Digital Storage, 4 Channels, 200MHz RS Pro IDS-2000E Series digital storage oscilloscopes offer features normally only available on much higher-priced scopes or as expensive add-ons. The models are equipped with Visual Persistence Oscilloscope (VPO) technology. This uses a high-density IC for hardware acceleration to transfer all the acquired data into the displayed waveform image. RS Pro IDS-2000E Series can clearly display complex and random waveforms using its 8 inch 800 x 400 16:9 TFT LCD display and maximum 1 mV/div vertical range. This scope is aimed at Educational Training and Laboratory use, QA Tests, Serial Bus Design and Debugging and Maintenance Services markets. For Price, it is comparable to Siglents and Rigols at about 1300 pounds but you get plenty of features worth the investment and this is a 200Mhz scope with included protocol decoding I2C, SPI, CAN, LIN, Serial and segmented memory It also comes with Ethernet and USB included and easily integrates with Labview or any other TCP/IP Socket based application. Underlying all this is full support for SCPI command protocols via USB or TCP/IP So if your looking for a year end purchase before your current budgets are renewed, or for new year spending, this is definitely worth a look, it looks to be great value in its target user space. The oscilloscope is currently only available through the Europe Brand (RS-Components), not North America so while I shared the USD price (Using current exchange rates), it was for reference only.
