I like Viking chair because it is made of solid oak wood, is ingeniously simply designed and is very comfortable to sit on. I use the chair for outdoor picnics. Because it is low, I can prepare food from it on a low portable grill and at the same time it offers me excellent support when sitting for several hours. It can be easily folded without taking up much space. Before making it, I drew a sketch of the chair in SketchUp so that I could properly measure the right angle of inclination for the backrest. The chair is made of two identical boards: length 100cm, width 30cm, thickness 4cm. During the production, I sanded the clear varnish and coated them with natural wood oil (modified tung oil). I didn’t fill the holes from the stair hardware because I wanted to keep the story that it’s recycled stairs. I was pleasantly surprised by the final product, as in the first attempt I correctly assessed the right angle of the backrest. It is very comfortable to sit on and also very stable. I also like the design, just the way I wanted it, minimalist and modern. The only deficiency may be, that the chair is quite heavy, because it is made of solid oak and you need a little help with the assembly. Stol mi je všeč, ker je narejen iz masivnega hrstovega lesa, je genialno preprosto zasnovan in je zelo udoben za sedenje. Uporabljal ga bom predvsem za piknike na prostem. Ker je nizek lahko z njega pripravljam hrano na nizkem prenosnem žaru in mi hkrati nudi odlično oporo pri večurnem sedenju. Všeč mi je, ker se stol lahko enostavno zloži in pri tem ne zavzame veliko prostora. Pred izdelavo sem poiskal nekaj informacij o stolu na spletu. Pred izdelavo sem v SketchUp narisal tudi skico stola, da sem lahko pravilno odmeril pravi kot naklona za naslon. Stol je narejen iz dveh enakih desk: dolžina 100cm, širina 30cm, debelina 4cm. Pri izdelavi sem zbrusil prozoren lak in jih premazal z naravnim oljem za les (modificirano tungovo olje). Lukenj od okovja stopnic nisem zapolnil, ker sem želel ohraniti zgodbo, da gre za reciklirane stopnice. Nad končnim izdelkom sem bil prijetno presenečen, saj sem v prvem poiskusu pravilno ocenil pravi kot naslona in dobil izkušnjo, da je zelo udoben za sedenje in tudi zelo stabilen. Tudi dizajn mi je všeč, prav tak kot sem si ga želel, minimalističen in moderen. Edina slaba lastnost je mogoče ta, da je stol precej težek, ker je narejen iz masivnega hrasta in pri sestavi potrebuješ malo pomoči.
