So coming to investigation if you're doing uroflowmetry which is a condition to diagnose urinary flow. It is a condition where the normal flow rate should be between 20 to 25. But whenever the patient has slow urinary flow the urine flow it can decrease less than 20 sometimes patient may pass urine with the flow of less than five there are conditions which can decrease urinary flow it can be like stricture urethra or it can be like benign prostatic hypertrophy bladder neck hypertrophy or it can be a condition like where if a small stone is impacted in the urethra or bladder neck patient may complain of decreased urinary flow. It can be because of the stricture urethra but if the patient who is more than 50 55 years presenting with decreased urinary flow it can be an associated benign prostatic hypertrophy or some patient may have stricture urethra also and the patient has history of stones which the stone has slipped into the bladder it can abstract in the urine and decrease the urinary flow. So we have to rule out the cause what is the cause for a decrease urinary flow and we have to treat the cost accordingly.
