If you're planning a trip to Burgundy France and you want to get an iconic picture with the famous fence and cross at Romanee-Conti it's fairly simple to do so. Simply drive down to the village of Vosne-Romanee and google Domaine de la Romanee Conti. Maps will take you right through the vineyard rows to the spot! I figured the vineyard would be guarded as to not allow tourists to enter, but as of Nov 2023 it's wide open to the public. There's something really surreal about seeing this vineyard in person. It's so coveted around the world and by far the most expensive wine produced to date. However, the vineyard is extraordinarily simple and the vines while planted with high density with low trellising don't appear in any way different than any other vineyard. It's the earth below. It's the subtle slope and the way the afternoon sun kisses down on the land that makes it's mark in the wine. Simply Iconic my friends.
