White Collar Terrorism: Who is Adil Ahmed? | ISH News

Another shocking twist has emerged in the Red Fort blast investigation, this time involving a well-educated doctor, Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather, a 31-year-old internal-medicine specialist from Qazigund, Anantnag in Jammu & Kashmir. He worked at Government Medical College (GMC) in Anantnag until October 2024 and later moved to Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh in March 2025. With a salary of nearly ₹5 lakh per month and around 50 patients daily, he appeared to live a normal and successful life. However, investigators revealed that he was secretly part of a dangerous “white-collar terror module.” Police said he used his medical profession as a cover while helping in logistics, funds, and movement for terror activities. He married a doctor from J&K on 4 October, and police now say the wedding acted as a secret meeting point for module members. They discussed future plans under the cover of celebration. On 27 October, suspicious Jaish-e-Mohammed posters appeared in Srinagar. CCTV footage later showed Adil pasting them. He was arrested on 6 November from a hospital in Saharanpur. A raid at GMC Anantnag led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and ammunition from his locker. Investigators also found a huge cache of explosives and arms in a Faridabad godown including 2,900 kg of explosive substances and IED components rented by Adil and another doctor, Muzammil Shakeel. Other doctors who attended the wedding, including Dr. Aslam Zaidi and Dr. Bilal Ahmed, were questioned. Authorities fear that terror networks may now be recruiting educated professionals who can blend into society and avoid suspicion.
