So, let's dive right in. I'm currently on Google Chrome, just hanging out on one of my websites, but no matter where you are in Chrome, you'll want to start by heading to the toolbar at the top. Look for the three dots to the right of your profile picture and click on them. From there, navigate to the bottom of the menu and select "Settings." Once you're in the main Google Chrome settings, you'll see a sidebar. What we're looking for is "Privacy and Security," which is the third option down. Click on that, then scroll down to the bottom of this window and select "Site Settings." In the Site Settings, you'll find a bunch of important settings, but we're focusing on JavaScript, which is listed under the Content section. Click on JavaScript, and you'll see the default behavior section for JavaScript. Now, JavaScript is a programming language that's widely used on the internet, mainly for interactive features like video games or web forms. However, there are security reasons why you might want to control its usage. By default, Google Chrome allows sites to use JavaScript, but you can change this setting to "Don't allow sites to use JavaScript" if you prefer. You also have the option to customize JavaScript behavior on a site-by-site basis. If you generally allow JavaScript but encounter specific sites you don't trust, you can add those domains to a blacklist by clicking "Add" under the "Block" section. Conversely, if you've disabled JavaScript entirely but want to enable it for certain trusted sites, you can add those domains under the "Allow" section, allowing them to bypass the general block. Remember, these settings only affect how JavaScript runs on your version of Google Chrome; they don't change the websites themselves. I keep mine set to allow JavaScript by default, but you've got the flexibility to adjust these settings based on your needs, including adding exceptions for specific websites. I hope this tutorial on turning JavaScript on and off in Google Chrome has been helpful. If you found it useful, please drop a like and let me know in the comments.
