Clip from the documentary Such Hawks Such Hounds (2009), about the American heavy rock underground from 1970-2007. It covers early proto-metal, and then focuses mainly on the heavy psych/stoner/doom/drone bands starting in the late 80s. By John Srebalus. Buy the DVD and watch the whole feature, it's worth it! http://www.suchhawkssuchhounds.com/ My somewhat dated Stoner Rock Primer from 2011: https://fastnbulbous.com/stoner-rock-... I'd honestly forgotten about this clip, and missed out on all the conversation in the comments, sorry about that. Some people take "stoner" too literally to imply music for heads, even though that goes back to the origins of psychedelic rock in 1965, that meant music that simulates the experience of altered states without listeners having to imbibe in substances. Dudes, you can abide without imbibing! I understand why some sober folks don't like the association, so these alternative names have also been used: Heavy Psych, Desert Rock, Fuzz Rock. I'm part of the Doom Charts community, and their focus is really more stoner/psych/desert/fuzz than doom. Close to 100 members vote on the best albums each month, and it's a great resource: https://doomcharts.com/
