Two participants in the high-profile Louvre robbery have been detained in France. Parisian #police have detained two #participants in the daring #robbery. One of them was arrested at the #Paris #airport while attempting to fly to #Algeria, the other in the Paris suburbs, planning to fly to #Mali. Both countries where the criminals hoped to find refuge were former #colonies of #France. The detainees are residents of the Parisian suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis and have had previous run-ins with the law... According to French media, police tracked the suspects several days ago and were monitoring them, hoping they would make a mistake that would lead to the recovery of the stolen valuables. After one of the suspects left for the airport, the police decided to act. According to media reports, one of the detainees holds an Algerian passport in addition to French citizenship. According to Le Monde, police collected 150 DNA samples and fingerprints from the crime scene and surrounding area; some of the DNA samples matched those of the detainees. One hundred investigators are involved in the investigation. Police are continuing to search for the remaining participants in the robbery, as well as the stolen valuables.
