Learn how the trinocular camera port of the open source 3D printed microscope, PUMA, enables simultaneous multi-camera imaging and allows PUMA to be used as a platform for developers and users of augmented reality microscopy applications. For more information on PUMA see: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/1... https://github.com/TadPath/PUMA CONTENTS ======== 00:08 What is the Trinocular Camera Port? 02:52 Limitations of the Trinocular Camera Port 06:46 Advantages 1: Simultaneous Multi-Camera Imaging 09:27 Advantages 2: Augmented Reality Microscopy 12:43 How To Build 13:59 Concluding Remarks SUPPORT PUMA ============ PUMA is an open source microscopy project. You can help support the project by: 1. Become a Patron: / pumamicroscope 2. Donate via PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted... 3. Simply subscribing to this YouTube channel, like, comment and share these videos. 4. Spread the word - post the news about PUMA and link to this YouTube channel on your social media sites and any other outreach method (tell your friends, colleagues, students or teachers and lecturers about PUMA, for example). 5. Consider purchasing your optics and related supplies from our affiliated online optics store, OptArc.co.uk ( https://www.optarc.co.uk/ ) --- PARTS AND TOOLS =============== For more details see the 'Bill_of_Materials' on the PUMA GitHub page ( https://github.com/TadPath/PUMA ) which also gives examples of where you can buy some of the more specialised items. The relevant worskheets in that document are: MD_Trinocular_port MD_Ocular MD_Monocular_C_Mount For AR application development you will need to build and fit the AR projector - see the separate dedicated tutorial on that modules for details. Tools required are the usual 3D print finishing tools (craft knife, wire brush, fine grit sand paper, etc.) and Allen keys of appropriate sizes for the screws (1.5 mm for the M3 grub screws and M2 socket head screws, 2.5 mm for the M3 socket head screws). MODELS CREATED OR UPDATED FOR THIS VIDEO RELEASE ================================================ The following models were released on the GitHub repository just prior to this video being released - use these instead of any previous versions for the instructions in this video to 'work' and for optimal performance. Monocular: Ocular_Extn_CM_170_c_adhesin - New. C-mount extension for 170 mm tube length objectives (it is 10 mm longer than the standard C-mount extension) Trinocular_CP: Trinoc_CP_CM - New. C-mount attachment tube for the trinocular port. TN_Trinoc_CP_tube - modified for more accurate optical path length calcs and to use the latest ocular mirror block assembly with ocular cap spacer, 0.5 mm spacer and 15 mm extension - as for the lower limb of the binocular tube. No MBT spacers are used here. Dominus: Uber_pol - New - A polariser that fits on top of the Abbe condenser to allow polarisation microscopy (the traditional trans-polarising illuminator does not work with the Abbe Condenser (however it gives more complete extinction than the Uber_pol because the anisotropy of the condenser lenses still have a detracting effect so the Uber_pol is not overall 'superior' - it can be better for high NA objectives though).
