Riding custom snowskate with 130 cm ski as sub deck. This board handles turns so good! The thin ski on the bottom makes the edges very sensitive. It can turn on a dime and you can really lean into your turns. The top deck used is the Jim Duran signature flight deck from Powell Peralta. This skateboard deck is excellent for use as a snowskate deck. It’s strong and water resistant. Deck is approximately 9x36. Wide but not too wide with some extra length in the wheelbase. Perfect skateboard deck for anything 130cm or longer. If you want a really wide sub deck you might like a wider top deck. Powell Peralta also has an old school shaped flight deck that is nearly 10 wide it has a short nose but it’s one of my favorite decks to use on snowskates. Flight decks are also very light weight. This board is really comfortable carving and going fast. The position the ski is mounted in gives the tail a good pop for doing Ollies. The ski is positioned so that its tail lines up with the tail of the top deck with nearly no over hang on that side. The ski sticks out past the tail maybe just an inch or two. Small changes in the position of the ski backwards makes huge differences in the way the board rides. You might need to play around to find what you like. Just like a snowboard the shorter the tail the more surfy the ride will be. A short tail may also create a much better Ollie and make getting off features better. If you have a long tail you’ll be fighting the board from doing an indo getting off the box or down the drop. Long tail is maybe better for higher speeds and railing turns but I pretty much never do it because I love how the short tail feels. Much more to come! Support! Share! Subscribe!
