I Went To The Seychelles And Had A Terrible Time

This morning, I woke up at 5AM ready to explore Mahé island (the main island of the Seychelles), but a rain storm came rolling through which forced me to delay the morning start until 9:30. When I hopped on the bus to the beach, there was a bad car accident in the road, causing another hour delay and everybody freaking out. Finally, I made it to the beach, only to discover everything being closed because it's a National Holiday today in the Seychelles. So I went to the capital town of Victoria, which was more like a ghost town as no restaurants or stores are open. I managed to find a small shop to get snacks, and while I was inside the store, I witnessed a bad street fight happening between two drunk people outside. That's what I call a disaster in the Seychelles. Despite being really frustrated and upset, I realized that none of these events have been in my control -- and that's why I should not hate the Seychelles. This also is a reminder not hate ANY place based on unexpected events that happen out of your control (bad weather, breaking your arm, public holidays, etc). Similar unfortunate events have happened to me in other countries, like Bulgaria, Brunei and India -- and when these situations happen, we need to be mature and move on. It's all part of the travel experience. While 95% of my videos are positive and happy, I think it's important to show you the negative (more realistic) side of travel like my experience in the Seychelles... Because truth be told, for every good experience that happens on the road, something bad happens. I never tell you about all the travel delays, missed flights, and scams that I constantly deal with!
