Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits An easy recipe fro chicken biscuits if you want to make from scratch. Although you can use store bought biscuits, they do not compare to home made biscuits. Our chicken was marinated in paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper and olive oil. You do not need to marinade your chicken and can use plain breasts. We love the flavor of the fried chicken with this marinade. Recipe: For the Biscuits: Ingredients: 2 1/2 cup- pastry flour 2 TBSP- baking powder 2 tsp- sugar 1 tsp- salt 1 cup- buttermilk 1 each- stick frozen butter, grated or cubed Method: In a mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt and sugar, mix together. Grate butter with a box grater. Your butter should be as cold as possible. We place back in freezer for 10 minutes after it has been grated. Add butter to flour mixture and mix well. With a spoon or spatula. Add the buttermilk and mix with a spoon or spatula until you have a shaggy dough. Place dough onto a floured surface, flatten with a dough roller to about 3/4 inch thick. Fold over each side into the center, and flatten again. Repeat this process about 6 times. Cut biscuits using a ring mold, roll out left over dough and repeat until you run out of dough. Brush biscuit tops with buttermilk. Place biscuits onto an oiled cast iron pan or metal baking pan. Bake at 425F for 20-25 minutes, until the tops are golden brown. Brush baked biscuits with honey butter Recipe: For the Honey Butter Ingredients: 1 each- stick softened butter 2 TBSP- honey 1/2 tsp- cayenne pepper Method: Add honey and cayenne pepper to soften butter, mix well. Cover and refrigerate, can store for up to 2 weeks. Recipe: For the Chicken: Ingredients: 4 each- small chicken breasts 2 cups- all purpose flour 3 each- eggs, beaten 1 TBSP- garlic powder 1 TBSP- chili powder 1 TBSP- paprika 1 tsp- cayenne pepper 1 TBSP- salt Oil for frying Method: Add flour, garlic powder, chili powder, paprika, cayenne pepper and salt to a bowl, mix well. Crack 3 eggs into a separate bowl and scramble. Dredge the chicken in the flour, coat well. Dip the floured chicken into the eggs and coat completely. Dredge chicken back into the flour, and cover well, gently press the flour into the chicken. Set the chicken aside for 20 minutes, the flour will begin to get a sticky texture. Heat the oil to 350 degrees, place the chicken in the oil and fry until the chicken reaches 165F internal. Butter each side of the biscuits with honey butter, place chicken on bottom side of biscuit, place a dollop of honey butter on chicken and top with biscuit. Thank you for watching the video.
