Penelope had her Surgery! 🎉 Another Emergency for Lincoln 🙏🏼

After waiting for 6 years, Penelope finally got to have her big cleft palate surgery! We couldn't be more excited for her! What we DIDN'T expect was that at the same time as she was having her surgery, Lincoln would need to be rushed back into the hospital and find out that his shunt had gotten massively infected to the point that he had sepsis in his stomach and meningitis in his brain! It was so scary and we can't even begin to describe all the thoughts that were racing through our brains and emotions pulsing through our hearts! So thankful that the doctors were able to move quickly to contain and extract the infections and get our boy on the path to being healthy again. Needless to say, our very first Thanksgiving in our new home ended up being spent very differently than we imagined - with a 2 week stay in the PICU while they kill the infection and get ready to re-place the shunt. Thankfully Penny is recovering so well at home and we are so happy for her! Can't wait until we all get to be back together again, smiling and laughing this holiday season!
