Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf - intro (Amiga)

The (rather long) intro sequence to Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf on the Amiga. Desert Strike is an isometric helicopter shoot 'em up developed and published by EA. It was originally developed for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, launching in 1992. Ports for several other platforms, including the Amiga, appeared in the subsequent year. Desert Strike was apparently inspired by the classic Apple II and arcade game Choplifter. The setting and villain were totally in no way inspired by the first Gulf War or Saddam Hussein. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental ... 😁 I had this game on both the Mega Drive and Amiga, but the latter is my favourite version thanks to the improved sound and visuals. Desert Strike is still fun to play but the constant searching for fuel and ammo gets annoying rather quickly. It's a shame you can't resupply back at the carrier or starting bases.
