Interstellar Origin: It's an object from outside our solar system, detected as it passed through. Extreme Speed: Holds the record for the highest velocity ever seen for a solar system visitor, indicating it's billions of years old. Composition: Unusual coma (glowing gas cloud) with high CO2 and nickel, but less water vapor than typical comets, suggesting different formation conditions. Appearance: Shows a coma and tails, confirming it's a comet, but its bright CO2 emissions are unique. Trajectory: It's on a hyperbolic (unbound) path, meaning it will leave the solar system and not return. Size: Estimated to be a few hundred meters to a few kilometers wide. Visibility: Became visible in late 2025 and will remain observable by telescopes through mid-2026 as it moves past Jupiter, then beyond Saturn by late 2026, becoming too faint for most by 2027-2028. No Earth Threat: Its closest approach to Earth is right now (December 19, 2025). Scientific Interest: Its unique chemistry and activity help scientists understand other star systems. Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb suggests its unusual light production and high methanol/hydrogen-cyanide ratio could indicate it's a technological artifact, not just a comet. However, NASA and other scientists point to natural phenomena like unusual outgassing, metal content, and CO2 vaporization as the cause of its strange behavior. We are using Starfront's GIANT 24-inch telescope. #3iatlas
