Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani was born in 1077 CE (470 AH) in Jilan, Persia (modern-day Iran). His family was of noble descent, and his father was a devout Muslim. Abdul Qadir traveled to Baghdad to pursue Islamic studies, where he became a renowned scholar and mystic. He was particularly drawn to the teachings of Hasan al-Basri and Abu al-Qasim al-Junayd. Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani founded the Qadiriyyah order, a Sufi mystical tradition that emphasizes love, compassion, and self-purification. The order spread rapidly across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani passed away in 1166 CE (561 AH) in Baghdad. He left behind a legacy of spiritual teachings, writings, and a vast network of followers. He is revered as one of the most important figures in Islamic mysticism and is often referred to as "Ghaus-e-Azam" (the Greatest Helper).
