How to Flush an EJ Fire Hydrant for New Installations

This video will show you one method of how to properly flush an EJ Watermaster® BR or CD fire hydrant. There are a few ways to properly flush a hydrant, such as through a nozzle or through the standpipe (as shown in this video). Flushing through a standpipe is the preferred method when a new line is installed or if the hydrant has had debris flushed out in the past. Flushing through the nozzle is often used by the fire department or if the hydrant isn't on a new line. It is up to the municipality to determine which method is best for their circumstances.
