New Holland Agriculture’s Braud grape harvester uses sustainable practices to make an ecofriendly glass of wine. ----- VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Philippe Boisseau, Marketing Specialist, New Holland Agriculture: “Chablis is one of the most famous vineyards in France. It is located in the Valley of the Serene. Chablis is composed of 6,000 acres of vineyards of which 80% is picked mechanically. New Holland has been involved in mechanical picking for over 40 years. "The New Holland VN2080 is a machine dedicated for narrow vineyards, so the tractor bass unit has an extendable, variable frame, which allows, which allows you to adapt the frame of the tractor to the width of the row spacing. Then, we have the shaking system. It is composed of two sets of rods, moving alternatively from the left to the right, and giving acceleration to the canopy. As it gives acceleration, everything that is heavier, which means the fruit - the bunch of grapes - are detached from the canopy and fall down to the Noria baskets. These Noria baskets collect the fruits that are detached, and conveys to the top of the machine to be cleaned by the cleaning system." "The ECOBraud system is a technology involved grape harvesters but also New Holland tractors, that is able to reduce the carbon footprints by 40% in the vineyards. At the level of the bottle, this means a 10% reduction." Patrice Vocoret, Owner Domaine Vocoret et Fils: ”Without the grape harvester the work be much more physically demanding and it has also freed up more time that I can now dedicate to the business. I have far fewer staffing worries during the short harvesting window." Philippe Boisseau: “With New Holland, the future is today, because we have a clean energy leader strategy. Clean energy leaders means sustainable farming for the future and sustainable agriculture.
